Equine Fly Management Program
Our Approach
At Woodland Pest Solutions, we understand how disruptive flies can be around horse barns and paddocks — irritating horses, spreading bacteria, and making day-to-day care more difficult. That’s why we offer a proactive equine fly management program designed to reduce fly populations throughout the peak season.
Our program runs on a bi-weekly schedule from May through the end of September, targeting common flies found on horse farms at multiple stages of their life cycle. By combining biological control with targeted adult fly management, we help keep pressure on fly populations before they become overwhelming.
Each visit begins with an on-site assessment of your property. Our licensed technician will identify fly breeding areas, manure and moisture hotspots, and high-activity zones around barns, paddocks, and feeding areas. This allows us to focus treatments where they will be most effective.
During each service, we distribute parasitic wasps in key areas to help control developing fly populations at the source. These beneficial insects target fly pupae, preventing new adult flies from emerging. We also apply professional fly bait as targeted spot applications in strategic locations to reduce existing adult fly activity while long-term biological control continues to build.
At Woodland Pest Solutions, safety is always a priority. All products and biological controls are selected with horses, livestock, pets, and people in mind, and applied by Ontario-licensed technicians with experience working in equine environments.
